Image & PDF OCR
Recognize printed text in images and scanned PDFs, directly in your browser.
🔒 Files and recognized text never leave your device.
Three steps
How it works
- 1
Choose files
Pick the file from your device or drag it onto the page. Nothing is sent anywhere.
- 2
Recognize text
Adjust the settings if you want to, then start. The work happens in your browser.
- 3
Download .txt
Save the result right away. It is ready the moment the run finishes.

Frequently asked questions
Can OCR detect the document language automatically?
Yes. Automatic mode checks the supported languages locally in your browser. Choosing a specific language can be faster when you already know it.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The whole job runs inside your browser, on your own device. Your file never travels over the network, so there is nothing for us to store, read or lose.
Does it cost anything?
No. There is no account, no trial and no upload limit tied to a plan. A short ad may appear before a download and helps keep the tools available.
Does this work on a phone?
Yes, on Android and on iPhone — the browser does the work, so nothing needs installing. What exactly is possible depends on the codecs your browser and device support; the tool checks that and says so before you start.
How large can a file be?
The limit is your device's memory rather than a rule we set. Very large files work on a computer and can fail on an older phone. Video compression is the one exception: it stops at 2 GB, and that is written next to the file picker.
