DPI Calculator
Convert pixel dimensions and DPI/PPI into physical print dimensions in inches, centimetres or millimetres.
How this calculation works
For this calculation, DPI/PPI is output density: pixels divided by pixels per inch gives physical inches. Changing only a DPI metadata value does not create new image detail.

Frequently asked questions
Are DPI and PPI the same?
PPI describes image pixels per inch; DPI technically describes printer dots. They are commonly used interchangeably in print-size calculators, so this page states the pixel-based calculation explicitly.
Does a higher DPI improve a low-resolution image?
No. A higher setting makes the same pixels cover a smaller physical area unless the image is also resampled.
